Dave Beshear Field Service Manager for Harris Waste Management Group

Dave Beshear has joined Harris Waste Management Group, Inc., where he will serve as a Field Service Manager, the company announced.

In his new position, Mr. Beshear will be responsible for leading all Harris Field Service efforts in Cordele Ga. “We are happy to welcome Dave to the Harris/IPS family. Mr. Beshear most recently served as a Engineering Support Technician for Jacobs ASG that provided all upgraded documentation for the rebuild and service of existing combat vehicles for Marine Corp Logistics Base Albany, Georgia, and the Department of Defense” said Eric Farmer, Director of Harris Service.

Mr. Beshear has 20 plus years experience in Engineering and Service/Support industry.

New Integrated Recycling Systems Division

Mark Haire has been named Vice President of Integrated Recycling Systems for Harris Waste Management Group, Inc.  Integrated Recycling Systems’ main focus will be engineered projects not only for the Harris family of products, but also ferrous and non-ferrous processing systems design and supply.   This specialized group is comprised of experienced material handling and processing, controls automation, project management, and service personnel to ensure that Harris supplies the best processing system solutions in our industry.

Haire has been with Harris since 2009 and was previously Engineering Manager for the Shredder Division.  He is excited about the direction of the Integrated Recycling Group, stating, “I’m looking forward to working with Harris customers to find solutions to their processing needs in order to help them make their operations more efficient and profitable.”

In related news, Harris is announcing two new appointments related to shredder products and systems. Scott Holder, formerly a Regional Sales Manager for Harris, is now Director of Shredder Sales. Holder is well known in the industry and is looking forward to focusing more of his efforts on shredder systems.

In the area of service, Jim Summers has joined the Harris service team as a shredder specialist.  As former operations manager at Midwest Scrap Management in Kansas City, Mo., Summers has vast experience in shredder systems. Haire adds, “Jim Summers is an invaluable member of the Integrated Recycling Systems team, and we know he has the knowledge and experience in the field to address any Harris customer needs.”

Avis Industrial Corporation Acquires Harris Waste Management Group, Inc.

Avis Industrial Corporation, a privately-held company with nine subsidiaries throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico, has announced the acquisition of The Harris Waste Management Group, Inc. Harris has been a leader in the recycling industry for over 100 years and manufactures both ferrous and nonferrous processing equipment.  Harris’ products include a diverse line of balers, shears and shredders.  Manufacturing facilities for Harris are located in Baxley and Cordele, Georgia, with additional engineering and sales offices in San Antonio, Texas, and the United Kingdom.

Bill Robinson Western Regional Sales Manager

Relocation of Tyrone Office

Harris announces that they will be relocating its New Product Development engineering group and Sales/Marketing administrative group to its manufacturing facility in Cordele, Georgia.  All the current job positions operating in the Tyrone, Georgia corporate office will be operating from Cordele starting October 1, 2013.  “This move to consolidate offices will allow Harris to better serve its customers and add to the overall efficiency. The consolidation will reduce time spent by employees traversing to the various offices to conduct business” said President Kenneth Galason .

 

Harris plans to begin moving offices to Cordele the first few weeks in August and complete the move prior to the end of September and effectively be in full operation by October 1, 2013.
