Essential Functions:

  1. Sets up job site with welding equipment according to standards.

Requirements 

 Education:

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Training/Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively to employees of organization.  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Must be able to interpret Blue Prints

5 years of MIG and TIG experience

Minimum of 3 years of Metal Fabrication experience

Responsibilities for the Continuous Improvement Engineer

  • Accountable for developing and implementing processes and procedures in order to standardize setups and operations to reduce defects.
  • Assist in implementing process improvements within the department.
  • Accountable for developing and implementing work area improvements to reduce wastes such as idle time, excessive transportation of product and time wasted waiting on product to move from one work station to the next.
  • Accountable for developing and implementing initiatives to reduce indirect labor, overtime and energy usage.

Water Jet Operator Job Description

OVERVIEW: As the water jet operator you are responsible for the set up and operation of the machine to make product assigned to you by the Production Manager. You are responsible for cutting custom parts from various materials while demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness. Employees are required to respond promptly to customer needs and meet commitments.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Following the Production Manager and/or group leader’s direction and schedule for completing orders
  • Choosing the proper settings and programs to fabricate products with appropriate material as described on the Blue Pick Ticket and/or customers drawing
  • Report first inspection to appropriate QC qualified inspector prior to production run
  • Perform quality work in a timely manner with zero non conformance’s
  • Trim materials used in production so that only useful pieces are stored
  • Correctly store in designated areas the materials, supplies and tooling
  • Perform and record daily any maintenance issues on the machine
  • Follow the tagging system to ensure we have an accurate inventory of materialFollow and comply with all procedures defined by the Quality System, ISO and OSHA
  • Being courteous to fellow employees
  • Report any potentially unsafe work conditions immediately
  • Utilize appropriate material fit to size (use smallest drops possible to make parts, i.e. 6″ use   closest larger sizer drop)

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Assist in other departments when needed
  • Maintain clean work area/wash Water jet at end of day
  • Coordinate with Production Manager to keep required for the performance of the machine in stock
  • Store and clean tools upon completion
  • Identify any non-conformance’s detected and report immediately to Production Manager
  • Suggest recommendations for a more productive or safer work environment to Production
  • Seek ways to improve quality
  • Turn off all equipment when finished job
  • Return unused material to designated area for future use
  • Immediately dry parts coming off Water jet (particularly Steel and soft Gaskets)

 

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  •  Mathematical skills and measuring skills are critical
  • Must be detail oriented and have good problem solving skills; stress tolerance; interpersonal skills a must; good decision making skills are also required
  • Ability to coordinate multiple assignments and projects in a fast paced environment with possibility of conflicting priorities
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Sigma nest a plus
  • Previous experience a plus

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  •  Ability to tolerate wet/humid conditions
  • Ability to stand, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for drafting/design function for the development of new and existing products as well as providing technical support to other areas of the company.  The Mechanical Engineer will have comprehensive knowledge of engineering processes and practices.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Perform work in accordance with Harris Waste Management, Inc. policies and procedures.
  • Work in conjunction with Designers and Engineers to help develop all aspects of a project.
  • Generate detailed designs and drawings, concepts, and new product mechanisms in both 2D and 3D.
  • FEA (finite element analysis) experience and use to optimize designs.
  • Resolve design/drawing issues in order to meet required goals.
  • Develop the required documentation during development and for transfer to production (models, detail drawings, diagrams, BOM, assembly procedures, etc.)
  • Generate meticulous, detailed, and thorough documentation and reports
  • Interface with the client as need on various projects.
  • Communicates job requirements and design intent to others on operation of systems.
  • Ensure corrective actions for mechanical design issues are addressed appropriately and implemented in a timely manner.
  • Participate in company safety meetings and safety awareness as well as Lean manufacturing meetings.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering
  • Two or more years of design and drafting experience
  • Solid work experience a must, Inventor experience a plus
  • Strong analytical, mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Proven experience working with 3D design/drafting
  • Good organizational skills, self-starter
  • Ability to communicate clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Work well within a team environment
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision
