Morris Scrap Metal Powers up a New Harris GS 7 B/L/S
Peachtree City, GA, December 01, 2006
Morris Scrap Metal, King’s Mountain, NC, has recently installed a new Harris GS 7 Baler/Logger/Shear at their King’s Mountain processing facility. In business since 1931, Morris outgrew their previous Mosley shear and evaluated several pieces of equipment before purchasing another Harris machine. “We are a family business and need equipment that can stand up to the demands of a fast paced scrap yard.” said Neil Morris, Vice President of Morris Scrap Metal. “The GS 7’s performance has met all of our expectations and then some.” The Harris GS 7 Baler/Logger/Shear was designed to deliver a new generation of performance that will keep pace with a company’s sustained growth and provide an overall lower operating cost per ton. The baling chamber and resulting bale size were engineered to meet mill specifications of Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) operators. “The GS 7 B/L/S is smaller than some of our other Baler/Shears”, said Doug Sebastian, Harris’ Vice President. “They’re compact, but it’s a Harris in every sense of the word.” Harris is a worldwide leader in the design, manufacture and support of scrap processing, recycling and waste handling equipment and offers the most experienced, highly skilled team of scrap processing professionals and system design engineers in North America.
